i'll take nat's advice and harp on meaningful things in life for a change.

let's talk about the phrase "the grass is always greener on the other side" shall we? for those who have no idea what this idiom means, i'll explain. this phrase means that there are things in life that is always better than what you are occupied with now....or so thereof..

Now it got me thinking. we, humans, have this concept drilled into our systems during our early stages of growing by our parents or guardians, we will always be searching for that greener side in our life. no matter how green the grass is on the present site, we will always be pondering about the grass on the other side. like how people in society these days are always struggling for a social standing and material wealth.

However, there's this small pockets of people who are contended with their side of the grass and wouldn't give 2 cents to think what it would be like on the other side. In my opinion, these are the people who will truly have a full life. they will be contented with what they have and more importantly, they are happy.

Now comes the big question. will society be better off with the former group or the latter? with the former, it's a dog eat dog world, each vying for the position of top dog in society. but it does have its benefits, society/civilization are moved forward by ambitions of man and not forgetting some civilizations get destroyed by it as well. double edged sword i must say. with the latter group, society enjoys peaceful life. everyone's happy. but on the downside, society will be in a standstill. never moving forward, never caring and ever idle.

This will be an inner battle in my brain for the next couple of days, until i can find a more intriguing subject to touch on.
