Found this poster outside the library today. It might be up there for light years now. look at the date. But, that is not the point. For those who can't make out the words, it says REDUCE VULGARITIES! Talk about useless campaigns. Talking thrash is still thrash ... ain't it?
Here's a made up situation:
Boy A : Ka Nee Na Lar.. Chee Bye! fuck you lar you fucking fuck!
Boy B : Please reduce your vulgarities.
Boy A : Ok.
Boy B: Wow, that's good. You should be proud of yourself.
Boy A : FUCK YOU! ( vulgarities reduced )
The thing is, like it or not, vulgarities are here to stay. There's peers and not to mention the catalytic effect of the modern day media, children nowadays know more than they should for their single digit age. I'm willing to bet that your church's pastor swears once in awhile. The gracious campaign launched, with the lion mascot and all was a failure, what makes you think this campaign will succeed?
Two proverbs before ending this post.
1. When in Rome, do as the Romans do.
2. If you can't defeat them, join them.
